images of betrayal are burnt in my mind.
eyes of sorrow longing for everything to end.
thoughts that haunt me will be there till I die.
there is no way of escaping, nowhere is safe to hide.
reminders of the past will always linger.
never able to move too far forward, the circle is always completed.
watching life pass by has become too much to handle waiting alone, feeling lost and empty is something completely too real- screams of frustration and fear are completely overwhelming.
reaching out for a lost soul that left so long ago.
since everything is gone this cannot hurt me again unless I give in, unless I get too close.
words don't mean enough to matter anymore, too many blank stares and sorrys have ruined everything.
so I will cry out how I have ruined everything.
so I will cry out how I believe everything is unfair, even if I know nothing will ever change.
I can still wish.
the time is here to let go, no more lies.
the hunt is on for something real, something worth holding on to... something real.
Wonderful dramatic opening, the voice of a black woman in all her honesty, vulnerability and openess. And then one of the fiercest tracks of Zulu, total hardcore: 'Now they are through with me', full of twists and turns, and suddenly ending in a kind of soul-track, brilliant! This is 21st century music at it's best. The end lecture is dramatic and disturbing, spoken again by a black woman. Makes you think. Hesperus

Boston band featuring members of Have Heart and Basement take their earnest, motivational post-hardcore to thrilling new heights. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 23, 2023
Such a unique, crushing and yes, catchy record. Having seen them live recently can also attest to the band’s incredible tightness and massive tones. Love this record and this band. rube
